To my beloved family in faith (and football).

I am looking forward to Sunday’s game in which my beloved Ravens will host the resurgent and exciting Washington Commanders (for whom so many of you root). (I must confess that I’m feeling less than secure regarding the outcome. Jayden Daniels is amazing!)

In the spirit of camaraderie and good will, I challenge everyone to think of this Sunday’s worship as a “Tailgate Party.” Naturally, I challenge you to sport your favorite team attire in true tailgate fashion. In addition, I’ll set up two receptacles in the sanctuary; one in honor of the Ravens, on in honor of the Commanders, to receive donations for the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) for the relief of those suffering the effects of Helene (and potentially Milton). Before we retire to our homes to see who comes out on top on the field; let’s see which team comes out on top on the field of generosity (and have a little fun and do a little good in the process).
