Pastor Tim’s Sunday Follow-up

Thanks for taking time to read this Sunday Follow-up:

Special thanks to…

  • The Bell Choir, who rocked as always.
  • Jan & Spence who hosted and all who stayed to enjoy a great fellowship time.
  • Ellie Bateman, who responded to my challenge to share as part of my message her story of being called to create our medical equipment ministry.

In Sunday’s message I emphasized that we are all “called” not simply to salvation, but to vocation as well. In other words, we are “called” by God to DO stuff. To serve as God’s hands and feet accomplishing God’s will in the here and now.

I spoke as well about how one “calling” begets the next; and how the journey of faith is traversed by responding to one “call” after another.  To ignore God’s call in favor of pursuing one’s own will is to stunt one’s spiritual growth.

I hope this inspires you to think about what God may be “calling” you to. It could be as simple as showing kindness to an unkind neighbor, or as laborious as heading off to seminary, and anything in between.  Perhaps God is calling you to serve in one or more of our many ministry areas?  Perhaps God is calling you to start a new ministry?  Perhaps God is calling you to learn more through participation in Review/Preview, the Men’s Group, the Adult Sunday School, or some other venue?  The possibilities are endless.  The question is: will we be faithful to respond!  Don’t miss out!  Feel free to reach out if I can help in clarifying God’s call in your life.

Thank you for your prayerful consideration!
